Launched in 2016, this was the first watch with the IWC in-house calibre 69370 movement. This the special limited edition with the functional instrument look traditionally found in the cockpit of historic racing cars. IWC chose to honor Caracciola with this release who was considered one of the greatest, if not the greatest, of pre-World War II Grand Prix drivers. The holder of many speed records, Caracciola also won the European Driver's Championship (the predecessor to Formula One) three times, racing for Mercedes Benz.
